NCVA

Several meetings were held for discussion of a merger of the three state associations between NCVA, SCVA and VAMA.
Legislative Days were held in February. Several NCVA members met with Dick Carlton, our lobbyist, at the Legislative Building in Raleigh and visited with some influential legislators for support of our exemptions to tax and other matters on the horizon that could impact our industry.
An NCVA Board Meeting was held in June in conjunction with ACE.
On October 15-16, 2009, a planning session, board meeting and golf outing was held at the Courtyard by Marriott, Greensboro, with good response. A round-table discussion was held prior to the board meeting to glean ideas from the participants for improving our association. The board meeting and golf outing was well attended.
December 9, 2009 a luncheon meeting was held in Greensboro, NC with our lobbyist, Richard Carlton, as the speaker. Carlton enlightened the attendees with detailed information he believes could affect the vending industry for the future.
For 2009, NCVA was able to reduce the lobbing expense by approximately 45%. This was put out for bid with the selection results being very positive for NCVA.
The management fees for NCVA was reduced which impacted our overall expense for the year in a positive manner.
